Experience

I am currently the only person on my course that speaks native English, so I have been helping people write job applications, teaching them new words and helping with spellings occasionally - I have also had a lecturer at the university ask me to correct the version of his website that is in English - so it occurred to me that I could help other people with these sort of things! I have been working for many years prior to the education I am taking now, so I have a variety of experiences under my belt. I received high grades in English when I was in secondary school and I have also had many comments on my stereotypical British accent (as soon as I open my mouth, people know exactly where I originate from!) I feel like I could really help with pronunciations if you are aiming to speak British English over American English. I don't speak fluent Danish, but enough to get by - I am currently learning - so for those native Danish speakers, it will be a more authentic experience!

I am a student studying Multimedia, Design and Communications so right now this is my main interest. The reason I chose to study here in Denmark is because I am half Danish, many of my family members live here but I was raised in the UK and I wanted a chance to get to know this side of me better. Usually in my spare time I am an artist and photographer, I love to travel and learn about new places, I sell second hand vintage clothing in the UK and I also dog sit for friends and family - I absolutely love dogs! Prior to moving to Denmark and starting to study again, I have been working since I left college full time. I spent some years when I was younger living here in Denmark working throughout the summer running the floor in a beachside restaurant, I have since then worked as a bar manager, worked in events such as weddings, racecourses etc and in my last job I worked in a designer outlet which I absolutely loved - I am still on great terms with the manager and whenever I go back to the UK for holidays she offers me work. I can get excellent references from my previous employers, including my bosses from my job in Denmark (in the beachside restaurant) we are still on great terms and we meet up occasionally for dinner and a catch up.
